
Born in Bogotá, Colombia Andrés is a composer, arranger and orchestrator currently residing in Los Angeles, California. Since 2015 Andrés has been part of the team at JoAnn Kane Music Service (JKMS), one of the top music preparation houses in Hollywood. Some of his credits with JKMS include: Star Wars (Force Awakens, The Last Jedi, Rise of Skywalker), Mary Poppins Returns, Frozen 2, Toy Story 4, The Simpsons, The Oscars 2020 among others.
Outside of JKMS, Andrés has also worked with the orchestrator and composer Tim Davies. Under his leadership, Andrés has worked as an orchestrator on The Lego Movie 2:The Second Part, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Hotel Transylvania 3:Summer Vacation, Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children, Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse and the TV Series Revenge and Empire.
Andrés is the lead orchestrator for German composer Anne-Kathrin Dern and has collaborated with heron the Netflix films Fearless and The Claus Family 1 & 2 and the film Four Enchanted Sisters – Vier zauberhafte Schwestern, which was distributed by Disney. He has also collaborated as an arranger with the German music production company DASDUR, creating an orchestral arrangement for the big finale of a fireworks show in Bahrain.
In addition to his work in the United States and Europe, Andrés has worked for the Colombian composer Camilo Sanabria, orchestrating the film Alias Maria (Cannes Official Selection in 2015) and the documentary Carta A Una Sombra.
As a composer, Andrés just released a new instrumental album called Doorways, highlighting the diverse range of his composing abilities. The album was recorded in Los Angeles, Bogotá and Budapest with over 90 musicians involved and is available on all streaming services. Andrés wrote the music for the Colombian feature film Rio Seco, which participated in different Film Festivals in México, Cuba and Colombia. He also wrote the score for the short film Venena Bibas, premiered at the 19th Amsterdam LGBTQ Film Festival.
In Colombia, he was the Artistic Coordinator for the Fine Arts Theater in Bogotá (2010-2012) and he is a founding member, composer and arranger of The Bogotá Symphony Orchestra (FOSBO). He has been an arranger for FOSBO for over 12 years, his works include several arrangements of Colombian Music in symphonic versions performed at many concert venues in Colombia and have been broadcast live on national television.
